Hello Again Friends!
Please allow me to begin with a personal sob story, although I promise to cheer up as quickly as possible, but the sad part I feel is unavoidably interwoven into the story of how I began with my musical interest.
When I was five years old back in 1974 I was stricken with pneumonia and as a result, confined to the house and isolated from school and my young friends for what seemed a long time. Back in those days if I had asked for a “Big Mac” I would have been probably handed a large raincoat. One day, however, my father waltzed through the front door with a brand new Rigonda stereo system. Little did I know at the time that I would be introduced to some great new friends. These friends being the LPs of Arthur Greenslade, Geoff Love, Ray Conniff, Frankie Carle, Alan Hawkshaw and many other master orchestral arrangers and performers. Their music not only helped guide me through the anguish of my illness but also inspired me tremendously, and amongst the violins, brass and percussion there were hints of the good old Hammond and Lowrey Organs. Once I heard these latter sounds I told myself “One Day I wish to play one of those!”
We still had the Rigonda by the time my Grandparents introduced me to a Klaus Wunderlich LP many years later and I was completely hooked in the world of electronic organ music and what I may dream to achieve if I practised long and hard.
As we have now reached Volume 5 I would also like to take the opportunity to thank all the people who have helped encourage me along the way and dedicate this album to them such as Markus Fuller, Nigel & Liz Dawes. Equally as important are my parents and Grandparents who always bent themselves backwards to drive me on (and help buy the organs for me). I also wish to give an enormous thank you to Ian King of MSS Studios for taking on my productions so far.
Instruments Used: KeyB Live Organ – Roland BK-7 Module.
